2025 Science, Medicine, and Cytology SuMmer Certificate (SMC^2)
Please join us for this virtual summer program which allows high school students the opportunity to gain an in-depth perspective and exposure to science and medicine with a focus on pathology and cytology, and the tools that are necessary for success in medicine, and particularly pathology. This in-depth program consists of optional live Q&A sessions provided in July and August. Students who complete the course and the pre- post-session surveys will receive a certificate of participation.
Target Audience
High school-aged sophomores, juniors and seniors from across the country representing a variety of backgrounds. Students who are interested in a career in medicine or science, or community involvement are encouraged to complete the course.
Learning Objectives
1. Students will expect to hear impactful and engaging anecdotes and experiences about careers in medicine, pathology and cytopathology.
2. Students will expect to receive career advice and have a chance to ask questions of the speakers during the live Q&A sessions.
CERTIFICATION
Students who view attend all pre-recorded sessions and complete the pre- and post-session surveys will receive a certificate of participation. Sponsored by the Mentoring and Pathways Committee of the American Society of Cytopathology (ASC).
