ACE UNIVERSITY - Inspection Readiness: What to Expect and How to Prepare

The Advanced Cytopathology Education University (ACE U) is a joint initiative from ASC and the American Society for Clinical pathology (ASCP) through the ASC-ASCP Workgroup designed for cytotechnologists who wish to distinguish themselves in the field and provide evidence of training and experience to share with employers. The program guides participants through specific criteria to demonstrate knowledge and achievement in different advanced topics. The program requires participants to progressively build knowledge through participation in specific educational activities. Please note: Information on this course may not be the most up-to-date. Target Audience

This educational activity is designed for pathologists, cytopathologists, cytotechnologists, students and other members of the cytopathology community.

Learning Objectives

  • Provide an overview of the regulatory and accreditation requirements applicable to cytology laboratories
  • Share key inspection readiness strategies based on the most frequently cited deficiencies in cytology laboratories
  • Help the participant gain practical resources and tips on maintaining inspection readiness
  • Enhance understanding of the importance of maintaining engagement of all levels of employees in inspection readiness and on-site process

Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Continuing Medical Laboratory Education (CMLE)
The ASC designates this activity for a maximum of 3.0 Continuing Medical Laboratory Education (CMLE) credit hours for non-physicians. The CMLE credit hours meet the continuing education requirements for the ASCP Board of Registry Certification Maintenance Program. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Cytotechnologists with Licenses in Florida and Caliornia
This program is approved for 3.0 continuing education credits in the State of Florida and 3.0 in the State of California. The credit on each link is good for three years from the live presentation date.
