Distinguishing Non-Invasive Follicular Thyroid Neoplasm with Papillary-Like Nuclear Features (NIFTP) From Classic and Invasive Follicular-Variant Papillary Thyroid Carcinomas Based on Cytologic Features
The eJournal is an online pathology journal club that reviews current articles from a peer-reviewed cytopathology Journal.
Participants will be able to review the journal article, commentary and webinar from the contributing author. This is a great self-assessment, teaching and continuing education tool.
This educational activity is designed for pathologists, cytopathologists, cytotechnologists, students and other members of the cytopathology community.
- Review the pathobiologic spectrum of NIFTP and papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC)
- Discuss the pre-surgical Bethesda diagnoses that are most appropriate for cases eventually diagnosed as NIFTP
- Evaluate a range of cytologic features that may be helpful to distinguish NIFTP from classic PTC and invasive FVPTC – main topic of the paper
