Melissa L. Randolph, BS, SCT(ASCP)
Manager, Cytopathology Operations
Indiana University Health

This webinar will explore procedural, system and EMR practices that can affect the laboratories bottom line by potentially changing precious FTE resources. By embracing practices that are customary in the clinical lab, the cytopathology laboratory can mitigate and re-imagine precious FTE resouces within budgetary constraints of healthcare.

Target Audience

This educational activity is designed for pathologists, cytopathologists, cytotechnologists, students and other members of the cytopathology community.

Learning Objectives

  • Discuss EMR changes that can benefit the cytopathology laboratory
  • Discuss LEAN methodologies and the definition of value added steps that cross support staff, preparatory staff, cytotechnology staff and staff pathologists
  • Learn to use data to implement improvement projects that will have immediate impact on non-value added steps
