Interpretation of FNA Material of Lymph Nodes Involved by Lymphoproliferative Disorders

Selected common and challenging lymphoproliferative disorders involving lymph nodes and encountered in a current cytopathology practice will be reviewed in this session. Common pitfalls in the diagnostic assessment of these neoplasms will be reviewed integrating clinical presentation, imaging findings, and ancillary testing.  The role of the cytopathologist and cytotechnologist in the multidisciplinary team will also be highlighted.

This educational activity is designed for pathologists, cytopathologists, cytotechnologists, students and other members of the cytopathology community.

Learning Objectives

  • Following this session, participants will be able to identify pitfalls in the diagnostic assessment of common and challenging Fine Needle Aspiration specimens from lymph nodes involved by lymphoproliferative disorders.
  • Following this session, participants will be able to apply a strategy using appropriate ancillary tests in challenging selected lymphoproliferative disorders.
  • Following this session, participants will be able to classify cytologic specimens from selected lymphoproliferative disorders.
